What else is happening in and around your Seattle?

Spring Festival, Apr. 30
Join the  Lunar New Year celebration  in the International District, an event that includes lion and dragon dances, drumming, Hawaiian & Hmong dancing, a small parade, arts & crafts, and food vendors surrounding Hing Hay Park (423 Maynard Ave. South). Commonly known as the Spring Festival, cultures across Asia celebrate the Lunar New Year with their many customs and traditions. See for yourself!

Nat Geo Live, starting May 1
After a pandemic-related pause, the National Geographic U.S. tour returns this year to Benaroya Hall. People can subscribe to attend all six presentations or simply attend one. Learn about The Secret Life of Bears, dive into Secrets of the Whales, or climb to new heights in Improbably Ascent. The colorful presentations take place through spring and summer and are as well-produced as are the TV programs.

Seattle Storm season opener, May 6
The WNBA’s Storm tip off the first season opener in their new home – Climate Pledge Arena – in early May against Minnesota. Four-time league champion Sue Bird returns for her 19th season with Seattle, along with standout Breanna Stewart in hopes of bringing the city its fifth league title and third crown in five years.

The Vinyl Years: A Classic Rock Songbook, May 6-8
Seattle Symphony rocks out Benaroya Hall this spring. It will perform some popular rock anthems by The Doobie Brothers, Fleetwood Mac, Billy Joel and many more. This will be a must-attend show for classic rock fans or watch the streaming event.

Public Library Fully Reopens
The Seattle Public Library has resumed its pre-Omicron operating hours. And, for the first time in more than two years, the Central Library’s Book Spiral – on levels 6-9 – has reopened, as well as the 10th floor Reading Room. While it’s still encouraged, masking is no longer required. Rejoice, all you readers and curiosity seekers!

Events subject to change. Please check with venues to confirm times, as well as vaccination-status and masking requirements.
