Welcome to a Smarter Approach to Buying and Selling a Home

When I first considered moving to Seattle in 2009, I decided to visit for a week and get a feel for the surroundings. I only knew one person here, an ex-colleague from my days working at The Wall Street Journal in New York. He and I shared dinner and a few beers at Elysian Brewing on Capitol Hill and my decision was quickly made.

I was moving to the Emerald City – without a plan, without a job, but with high hopes and a new-found energy for life. With limited knowledge about the different neighborhoods, I looked for an apartment with modern amenities and close to public transportation. I choose the University District, only a few short blocks from the U-Dub campus (that’s the University of Washington, for the unfamiliar).

While there are many fine aspects to the U-District, including cheap eats on The Ave, I quickly discovered the surroundings to be unsafe and moved out after a year. I didn’t know. I didn’t have enough information to make a sound decision before I arrived.

If you are moving to Seattle – along with the thousands of others every year – take my advice and ask a lot of questions and be as knowledgeable about where you want to live as well as where you can afford to live. And when making the ultimate choice on whether to buy a home, it makes sense to speak with knowledgeable people to help you in that decision.

There are many who can help – relocation experts, community leaders, as well as friends and family from the area. And there’s one more: a residential real estate consultant, aka a Seattle-area broker. (Local tip: What many parts of the U.S. call a real estate “agent,” we call a “broker.” And what many in the States call a “broker” is called a “managing broker” in this region.)

There is no obligation, cost or expectation when seeking information and guidance from your local Realtor ®. They’re here to help you find the right home in the right neighborhood.

You will soon find out from my website, particularly this blog, that I want to help. It’s in my personal and professional DNA.

And, if I am fortunate to work with you to find your next home (or sell), my philosophy as a broker is to treat every client as a business partner. I am vested in ensuring your real estate needs and concerns are heard and addressed to your satisfaction.

I am in the business to bring client delight.

My Mission to Buyers – I promise to confidently guide buyers through the entire process, to communicate often and provide timely information about the best homes that meet their needs.

My Mission to Sellers – I promise to help sellers market their home to potential buyers at the highest possible price in the shortest amount of time and at the most favorable terms.

I enjoy living in my Seattle home – a Belltown condominium near the waterfront. My real estate consultation and negotiation work is primarily focused on helping buyers find that ideal home in Belltown, South Lake Union, downtown Seattle and neighboring areas. I know these areas well and can guide you through the best places to live.

Let me know how I can help.
